Tinley Park Oktoberfest

Tinley Park Oktoberfest is one of the only festivals in the Chicagoland area that most resembles the traditional Oktoberfest held in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. Oktoberfest features authentic German food, ceremonial Keg tapping, craft vendors, traditional Polka Musicians, and Oktoberfest Beers from local Tinley Park Brewers. This event is presented by the Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit dedicated to promote local businesses and bringing the community together.

In September 2019 I was brought onto the Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce as a freelance social media coordinator for Oktoberfest to help increase awareness and event promotion. When I first came onto the project there was minimal content and engagement with it’s audience members. Throughout my time there, my goal was to increase content creation, along with increasing audience member following and engagement.
